Emory University just published a study which weighs which personal values a person is willing to sacrifice under the right conditions. Based in functional magnetic resonance imaging, researchers measured the brain responses of 32 adults and found that the things people hold sacred are based in a distinct cognitive process but many would trade their beliefs for cash.
