A group of doctors from the University of Pennsylvania used experimental therapy rendered “crazy” by most to treat then sixty five year old William Ludwig’s chronic lymphocytic leukemia: gene therapy.  The doctors put Ludwig’s cancer into remission by using disabled H.I.V. -1 cells to train Ludwig’s cells to kill off the cancer.  Despite nearly dying in the radical process, Ludwig was the first of three patients to undergo the process and regain health.  Here’s how Re-Engineering Human Cells To Attack Cancer worked.
