A massive recall of peanut butter sold at Trader Joe’s, Target, and other stores was issued on Saturday, September 22, 2012 under the threat of salmonella. Peanut butter manufacturer Sunland, Inc., in Portales, New Mexico, pulled over 14 different brands of its product from store shelves due to the possible affects of consuming contaminated products.
