Hilary Clinton Tells World Leaders: “Hands Off The Internet”

International leaders gathered in The Hague for an event sponsored by the Dutch government and technology great Google to discuss Internet restrictions. During the conference, Hilary Clinton addressed the world leaders declaring her stance regarding government regulation of content control, Internet resources, and digital freedom following United Nations talks enabling countries to censor digital information. Clinton stated: “They aim to impose a system, cemented in a global code, that expands control over Internet resources, institutions, and content and centralizes that control in the hands of government,” which precisely opposes the Internet’s original founding purpose.
